District Prayer Points (June 2026)

For New Places for New People (NPNP), other areas of mission and for those churches facing various challenges.

Give thanks that the District NPNP Project SPACe at Southdown has its funding from Connexion confirmed
Pray for wisdom as we seek to embed New Places for New People across the District.
Pray for wisdom and vision for how to connect with new housing estates across the District.
West Herts & Borders Circuit – The Southdown Performing Arts Centre known as SPACe is an exciting NPNP project. As they seek to appoint a pioneer
Tendring Circuit – so much good work at the Hope@Trinity project, but the increasing numbers and needs of the clients mean more resources are needed to support them safely Pray for guidance for the way forward.
The Circuit are looking at the possibility of an NPNP in Clacton
North Bedfordshire Circuit – Pray for the that Spiritual Growth plans will come together.
Greensand Community Methodist Church are creating a strategy for their work with Children and young people and have recently engaged with Local Agents of Change to hear to voices of young people.
Give thanks that a Deacon has been found to fill the Bedford station
Southend & Leigh Circuit – Thundersley as they seek a way forward to serve their community. Possibly as a NPNP but certainly in a missional way.
Give thanks for the work that has gone into Southend & Leigh becoming the second Bronze Eco Circuit in the District
South Beds Circuit – Pray for Eaton Bray Methodists as they have recently left their building and become a nomadic church. Pray for vision as they seek to be a church without walls.
A young person from The Square, Dunstable has been accepted onto the Youth Rep programme
St Albans & Welwyn Circuit – For the work at Cornerstone House on the Salisbury Estate in Hatfield, where they are being Church on the Margins.
St Johns Potters Bar – Thanks for those who have joined the church over recent months and particularly those who have come to faith.
St Johns Potters Bar – As they seek to appoint a mission outreach worker in 2026
Chelmsford Circuit – For the churches in Chelmsford itself as they seek to work more closely together and explore the possibility of multisite church.
New NPNP Idea coming together for a Double Decker Bus to serve various new build areas to provide a flexible community resource.
Colchester Circuit – Prayers for the newly appointed Anna Chaplain and for the setting up of the Anna Chaplaincy in Colchester
Thanks for community work in the Circuit churches and prayers for ongoing work alongside the community
Prayers for The Well building project Prayers for the Circuit and church’s care work in relation to creation care and climate justice.
North Hertfordshire Circuit Pray for the Circuit Leadership Team as they discern the future shape of our mission in this area, affirming what we already do well and working with our faith partners in every community to meet local needs and to do the work of God’s Kin-dom.

Herts and Essex Borders Circuit – have a pot of money from the sale of property. They are seeking a way forward to spend it to share the gospel in that area. A variety of projects have had funding approved. Pray for wisdom and vision for those allocating funding.
One long term project that falls between Colchester and Tending circuits is the Colchester and Tendring Garden Community a huge housing development that is still in the planning stages at present. An excellent opportunity for NPNP in the future, but the work and prayer needs to start sooner.
